Hi everyone, it’s Tammy. Daisy Yellow is a long-running project started 17 years ago when I was getting into art. My goal is to send a numbered issue (i.e. № 115) every two weeks. To unsubscribe, find a link below.
Daisy Yellow is a reader-supported publication. As a thank you for paid subscribers I will share whatever I dream up, starting with a new series called the Creative Gazette (this will run weekly in parallel with ICAD).
If you are in need of a 🌈📇 reboot to refresh, renew, re-energize, or otherwise reboot your creative life, please join me for the 15th annual Daisy Yellow Index-Card-a-Day Challenge. 🔄
The first day of our challenge is June 1
Here are prompts & themes for week 1
Here’s how ICAD works
This index page auto-updates (bookmark it) when I post prompts on Tuesdays
For many years, readers have asked me how on earth to make art when ideas are not flowing. I think about this kind of stuff 24/7. One of the best solutions for getting unstuck seems counterintuitive but then again the creative process isn’t linear. Maybe it’s a chevron with a few roundabouts, aha moments, and a velvet ribbon.
If you are stuck, keep going anyhow. Simplify what you make. Shift the focus to the process. Release expectations of perfection. Take away risk. Use materials that do not feel precious. There are many approaches. But 🗝️ keep showing up.
Announcing the Creative Gazette!
During ICAD I’m doing a weekly series called the Creative Gazette. It will center different aspects of our creative practice. If you like the writings/art in my zines, this will be your jam. Upgrade to get the first issue at the end of May!
This is what happened the year I just kept going after ICAD and painted 104 index cards.
Daisy Yellow Zine № 20 🎉
Make yourself a mango+lime smoothie ❄️🍧🥭🍋🟩 put on your slippers and relax with Daisy Yellow Zine № 20: Index Card Art Love and 52+ Ideas for Small Format Art.
Clearly Index-Card-a-Day is not simply about the art. Small creative acts, repeated day after day, are how an art practice is built. It’s been 14 summers of index card art… and all of these seemingly trivial actions add up.
Excerpts from this new zine:
As long-time readers know I continue to deal with a disconnect between writing and publishing/sharing. 🙋🏻♀️ So every time I release something it feels like an accomplishment.

Thanks so much for the mention! I'm forever in your debt for introducing me to ICAD.
Looking forward to seeing your cards this summer, Tammy, and I'm sure the Gazette will be awesome. Great set of prompts for week one. LOVE the Day 1 word.
Thanks for the shout-out!
