I’ve decided this year to follow the prompts but not in order. I am doing a collage series but will probably go back to drawing. Hate what IG has become but still post there.
Fun factoid: In year one, 2011, we had 10 prompts/week and you could do any 7 and I think it's easier to kind of peruse a list and choose one than to be matched with one each day, so I 100% get it! 🌳💛 And I'm with you re: insta, we started using it for the original photo sharing charm and it is now the polar opposite.
Just for fun, I'm approaching ICAD differently this year: one set of chipboard pieces, numbered 1-5, plus one labeled "free" Another set of chipboard pieces has art supplies on them: stencil, markers, paint, colored pencils, rubber stamps, etc, plus one labeled "free".
The two sets are stored in two small bags, then taken out and randomly chosen. Yesterday, I drew the number "1" plus "ephemera". This meant I could only use ephemera on the card but could use as many types of ephemera as I chose. Just a different way to approach this project!
Aimee, this is a fantastic way to generate ideas! I love that even in year 16 there continue to be new and novel ways to approach 61 index cards. Thanks! 🌈💜
A lovely read, thanks Tammy. Theres always something eye opening in your posts and I loved the 720 card grid!
I'm doing my sixth icad and I'm working with vintage/ old maps this year - apart from that, no theme.
To date, I've been collaging but I think I'm going to try some paper folding and stitching work soon with the maps. I'm trying to pop my pieces on Notes here everyday, for my own records.
PS - finding IG has lost its sparkle but I'm still posting there.

Working with old maps is a great starting point for your work! 💃🏻🎉
Instagram has indeed fizzled because it changed the functionality and it really doesn't work for the way we want to use it.
